How it works:
Until September 2026: the barriers lift at the exit with no ticket required, so you can discover the service!
Here are our tips for parking smart without breaking the bank.
For visitors, the P+Rs are free and connected
It's the most affordable option for visiting the town centre: free parking in a P+R, and you take the tram or bus to reach your destination. Until September 2026, it's even easier: the barriers open automatically at the exit.
On-street, use the PrestoPark app to pay only for the exact time
The PrestoPark app (free) lets you pay for your parking remotely, extend it if necessary and only pay for the time actually used. No more overly long tickets! Rates are the same as at the pay-and-display machines.
In the azure zone, parking is unbeatable for long stays
If you need to leave your vehicle on-street for several hours, aim for the azure zone: only €0.50 for the first hour, then €0.10 for the following hours! For 10h20, you'll only pay €1.40. It's the most affordable option for a full day.
Take advantage of the first 20 free minutes in all zones
Whether you're in the purple, orange, green or azure zone, the first 20 minutes are free. Ideal for quick errands or drop-offs.
Compare with SAGS car parks for long stays
For parking of several hours, compare the on-street rate (especially in the azure zone) with that of the town-centre car parks (SAGS). Depending on your location, the car park may be more worthwhile, especially if you find a covered, secure space.
Several options offer free parking to users.
Park-and-ride car parks (P+R)
It's the most advantageous free solution for visitors. The metropolis's 29 P+Rs are free for public transport users (with a valid transport ticket). Until September 2026, they are accessible with no ticket at all!
The first 20 free minutes on-street
In all the paid parking zones (purple, orange, green, azure), the first 20 minutes are free. Worth remembering for your small errands.
The town centre's layout and the presence of many attraction hubs create strong pressure on parking.
The historic centre (place de Jaude, rue Saint-Hérem)
Around the famous place de Jaude, the cathedral and the shopping streets, demand is very high, especially on Saturdays and during festive periods. The Vercingétorix, Gambetta and Poterne/Cathédrale car parks are lifesavers.
The station area (place du 1er mai)
With the influx of SNCF and TER travellers, the area around the Clermont-Ferrand station is very busy. The Parking 1er mai is strategic, but on-street spaces in the surroundings are highly contested.
The university area
During the academic year, the neighbourhoods around the campuses (notably Carnot, Gergovia) experience strong pressure during the day from students and staff.
The Saint-Pierre market
On market days, the Saint-Pierre neighbourhood is extremely busy, and parking spaces are very rare.
Faced with demand, notably near the town centre and business districts, finding a monthly space can be a challenge. Yespark makes life simpler by connecting you directly to the private car parks available in Clermont-Ferrand and its surroundings.
Whether you're looking for a solution near place de Jaude, your place of study or in a residential neighbourhood, Yespark lets you access private car parks with no commitment.

Zones and rates
| Zone | Rate | Recommended duration | Max duration (FPS at €30) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purple | 20 free min, then €1.60/h (min €0.50) | 2h20 (€3.20) | 2h30 |
| Orange | 20 free min, then €1.20/h (min €0.50) | 3h20 (€3.60) | 3h30 |
| Green | 20 free min, then €0.90/h (min €0.50) | 5h20 (€4.50) | 5h30 |
| Azure | 20 free min, then €0.50 for the 1st h, then €0.10/h (min €0.50) | 10h20 (€1.40) | 10h30 |
Aim: encourage vehicle turnover and access to shops and services.
How to pay?
PrestoPark advantages:
Post-parking fixed fee (FPS)
Since the 2018 reform, non-payment or overstaying gives rise to an FPS of €30 (since 1 January 2023). This amount corresponds to the maximum duration allowed in each zone. To contest, follow the procedure for the mandatory preliminary administrative appeal (RAPO) indicated on the payment notice.
