Where to find cheap parking in Le Havre?

Here are our tips for parking smart without breaking the bank.

Residents, subscribe to the preferential rate

Residents of Le Havre can benefit from a resident subscription at preferential rates for parking in yellow and green zones. Count on £15 per week, £45 per month, £125 per quarter or £250 per year. A daily rate of £1.50 is also available. To subscribe, go to the Public Domain Reception (Le Havre Town Hall).

Use the free park-and-ride facilities to reach the centre

For a day of visiting or working in the town centre, the park-and-ride facilities (Grand Hameau and Schuman) are entirely free if you validate a LiA transport ticket. An economical and ecological solution.

Park in the green zone (entirely free)

Le Havre has an extensive green zone where parking is totally free, 24/7. These zones are generally located on the outskirts of the hypercentre. Consult the Seety map to locate them precisely.

For home-work journeys, think of Yespark

With 13 Yespark car parks representing 126 spaces, the average price for a monthly space is £46 (compared to £70 to £95 on the traditional market). Some spaces are available from £20 per month. It is an economical solution to secure your vehicle.

Use mobile apps for the fairest payment

The PayByPhone app is available in Le Havre (free per transaction). It allows you to pay in real time, extend remotely and stop your parking if you leave earlier.

    For healthcare professionals, specific rates

Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and caregivers can benefit from the professional subscription at the same rates as residents (from £45/month). A half-day of free parking is also offered.

Park-and-ride (P+R): free for transport users

To make access to the town centre smoother and encourage the use of public transport, Le Havre Seine Métropole has set up several park-and-ride facilities. They are free for people with a transport ticket validated on the LiA network.

Here are the main park-and-ride facilities:

    • Parking Relais Grand Hameau: 135 spaces, entrance via rue Hippocrate. Close to the Hôpital de l'Estuaire. Access via trams A and B and buses C3, C4, 10, 13 or 14 (Grand Hameau stop).
    • Parking Relais Schuman: 40 spaces, entrance via rue Flandres Dunkerque. Close to the Robert Schuman high school. Access via tram B and bus 17 (Schuman stop).

How it works: Entry is free (vehicle detection). To exit, you must present a LiA transport ticket validated during the day. A "parking only" ticket is also available from automatic vending machines. Parking is limited to 24 hours. These park-and-ride facilities will soon be connected to the future tramway.

Places where it is very hard to park in Le Havre

Some areas of the city are subject to strong car pressure, especially at peak times.

The Perret town centre and the Hôtel de Ville neighbourhood

Around place de l'Hôtel de Ville, the Volcan and the shops, spaces in the red zone (limited to 3h) are highly contested, especially on Saturdays. The Hôtel de Ville car park (400 spaces) and the Les Halles car park (350 spaces) are alternatives, but they can fill up.

    The SNCF station area

With the influx of travellers, the René Coty and Gares car parks are in great demand during weekday peak hours.

The Saint-Nicolas neighbourhood and the Docks

This very lively area, with its restaurants, bars and shops, attracts a crowd of visitors, especially in the evenings and at weekends.

The outskirts of the Zénith during concerts

During major concerts, the 2,500 parking spaces at the Zénith are saturated very quickly. It is advisable to arrive at least 1h before the start of the show or to use public transport (special shuttles in place). Private car parks are also available for booking on Zenpark.

    Questions?
    We have the
    answers.

How do parking zones work in Le Havre?
The city of Le Havre uses two main colour codes to regulate public space. The orange zone is reserved for short-term parking (maximum 2h15) right in the heart of the city to favour access to shops. The green zone allows longer parking, up to 6h30. To do away with time limits and hourly rates, renting a private car park with Yespark is the most serene solution. You get a dedicated space accessible 24/7, often at a monthly cost well below the sum of pay station tickets.
Where to find a parking space near Le Havre station?
Le Havre station is the departure point for commuters to Rouen or Paris, but also for users of the city's buses and trams. On-street spaces around (cours de la République, quai Colbert) are saturated from dawn. Having a private indoor car park a few minutes from the platforms allows you to stabilise your journeys. It is the ideal option to leave your vehicle on a fixed space before catching your train or using the multimodal interchange hub.
Which car park to choose for the town centre (Perret Quarter)?
The Perret district, famous for its reinforced concrete architecture, is full of shops and cultural venues like Le Volcan. Parking there is very regulated and wide spaces are rare in the historic streets. Choosing an underground car park via Yespark in this area allows you to enjoy the shops on avenue Foch or rue de Paris stress-free. You access your numbered space with ease, far from the bustle of the boulevards.
How to park near the Docks Vauban and the University?
The Eure district, with the Docks Vauban shopping centre and the university campus, is in constant bustle. Between students and retailers' customers, surface car parks are often full at weekends and during term time. Renting a private parking space near rue de l'Aviateur Guérin or quai Frissard is an effective tip for residents and professionals in the area who want a space available with certainty.

What are the LEZ and electric parking rules in Le Havre?
In 2026, the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) of Le Havre restricts access to the oldest vehicles within the urban perimeter. To support this transition, the city sometimes offers facilities for clean vehicles, but the availability of on-street charging points remains limited. Yespark offers car park spaces equipped with electric charging solutions. You can thus charge your battery on your own private space, avoiding dependence on public charging points on the seafront or at the Hôtel de Ville.
