Tourcoing's old town centre perfectly represents the town's growth. You'll find many private mansions there, which were formerly luxurious residences of families owning textile industries. You can also find the Saint-Christophe church.
Tourcoing's Town Hall is known for being magnificent, recalling the architectural style of Napoleon III's era. For many, it is the very symbol of Tourcoing's economic greatness at its peak. Today, the building located at 10 Place Victor Hassebroucq is listed as a historic monument.
The Tourcoing station, at 11 Place Pierre Semard, is one of the other representations of the economic success of the time. It was built for the international textile exhibition and has been on the historic monuments inventory since 1984. A park and ride is located nearby.
Boulevard de l'Égalité, in Tourcoing, is one of the town's main arteries. Parking there is complicated, as traffic is heavy and continuous. To the north, it leads to the Pont de Neuville metro stop and the cemetery while to the south, this boulevard leads to the town's historic centre and the Town Hall, in the blue zone.
Parking along avenue Fin de la Guerre also seems complicated. This avenue gives direct entry into the town and leads to the Colbert metro stop, then the town centre. On the other side, it connects to the D770 which serves as a ring road. If you keep going, you might even end up in Belgium!
