If you want to park for free at a town car park, you can head to the Quais d'Ivry shopping centre car park.
On-street, you can also park in the free parking zones, which can be found notably around Plateau Monmousseau, the Ivry-Port area as well as south of the cemetery.
In paid parking zones, parking spaces are also free after 7pm and before 9am. In the orange zone, parking remains free on Sundays. In the green and beige zones, you can park for free on Saturdays and Sundays. Finally, parking is free everywhere on public holidays and during August.
Located near Porte d'Italie and the ring road, Porte de Choisy is also a few metres from Porte d'Ivry. A busy area, since nearly 3 million people transit through Porte de Choisy station (line 7) every year. Trams 3a and 9 also stop there.
Near Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul church, avenue Maurice Thorez connects to the Pierre et Marie Curie metro stop, Porte d'Ivry, its 2 million annual passengers and access to the ring road. The street is split between the green and orange zones, only allowing parking for a maximum of 2 hr 30.
Generally, access to the town centre is often complicated in mid-sized towns due to heavy footfall. While rues Ledru Rollin and Marcel Cachin are in the green zone, the others are in the orange or even red zone. The media library, opposite avenue Danielle Casanova and part of the central core, is in the orange zone.
Boulevard de Stalingrad connects Vitry-sur-Seine to avenue de Verdun, then the ring road. This route follows the D5 and is heavily used. As part of the Grand Paris works, ongoing works (urban planning, rail laying) are underway on this long avenue, making traffic dense and particularly difficult.
Near Charles Foix hospital sits the Arena Auguste Delaune, venue for the town's first-team handball matches, as well as rues Rapsaire and Marat where parking is forbidden. As for the hospital, spaces are reserved for caregivers and patients along with their visitors. The area is busy and any spaces available on avenue de la République are quickly taken.
Near Ivry-sur-Seine cemetery, Charles Foix hospital, the Théâtre des Quartiers d'Ivry, and also the town hall and Ivry-sur-Seine sports complex, rue Monmousseau is a lively, attractive street. On-street parking is free, so spaces are highly prized!
