If you want to park for a medium or long stay, you'd better avoid on-street car parks, which are fairly expensive anyway. In any case, all car parks show similar rates in Nanterre, so it's hard to find a cheaper parking space.
If you want to save on your parking space, Yespark offers its car parks all over Nanterre to book for a few hours or rent monthly. Our subscriptions at competitive rates will help you cut the bill!
To park for free in Nanterre, many options are available. On-street, by avoiding paid parking zones, you can park for free. Heads up though: spaces are often taken. In on-street paid zones, the first 15 minutes are also free (you still have to take a ticket at the meter).
In the underground car parks, you can enjoy free parking in the following car parks:
With the creation of the U-Arena in 2017 (now called "Paris La Défense Arena"), the town and Hauts-de-Seine got themselves a stadium matching high standards. The venue hosts the matches of Racing 92, an Île-de-France rugby club. It was also chosen to host the gymnastics events of the international games. With 31,000 seats, the venue gives a positive and attractive image of the town. It's located at 8 rue des Sorins.
With close to 25 million travellers a year, Nanterre-Préfecture station is one of the town's arteries. Adjacent streets, like rue des trois Fontanot or Boulevard de Pesaro, are in the yellow zone and only allow parking for a maximum of 3h30. Nearby sits the Paris Opera ballet school, rue Salvador Allende, also in the yellow zone. A few metres from the Salvador Allende car park and its 321 spaces, the school's neighbourhood is also hard to access.
Rue Zilina is close to several bus stops (Zilina, Ernest Renan, Benoît Frachon), but also to the RER A station, Nanterre-Ville. The district is very busy, especially since it is split between a green zone where parking is allowed and a red zone where parking is limited. Likewise, a few small stretches of street nearby are closed to cars and favour pedestrians.
Rue Fernand Léger or rue François Millet lie at the heart of the Champs aux Melles district. Parc André Malraux, one of the busiest spots in Nanterre, is nearby, as are the Fontenelles media library, the market square, the Nanterre Sports Palace and the Gabriel Péri stadium. Likewise, the RER station is only 15 minutes' walk from the district.
Many monuments in the town of Nanterre are listed in the French cultural heritage, including Sainte-Geneviève-et-Saint-Maurice cathedral. The parish, dating back to the 3rd century, became a cathedral in 1966. It sits at 28 rue de l'église. In this area, parking spaces can be scarce.
Located in the historic heart of the town, the old town is home to some of the most important cultural venues, including the Lumières cinema, the Parc des Anciennes Mairies and the Maison de la Musique, which lets visitors watch and listen to contemporary and classical works. The Maison de la Musique is at 8 rue des Anciennes Mairies.
