To date, no paid parking zone is in force in Arcueil. Parking is organised in free regulated zones, with limited durations and a free resident permit.

The free resident permit

• Arcueil residents can obtain a resident permit free of charge at the Town Hall 
• It allows unlimited parking in the green zone (near the RER stations) 
• Documents required: vehicle registration document and proof of address 
• Valid for 2 years, no limit on the number of permits per household

Free regulated zones

• Green zone (long-term): near the RER stations. Free parking limited to a half-day (Monday to Friday, 9am-7pm). Residents with a permit can park there without limit 
• Blue zone (short-term): on shopping streets. Free parking limited to 1h30 (Monday to Saturday, 9am-6:30pm). Disc required 
• Unregulated zones: around 60% of the town's spaces, free parking with no time limit (subject to the 7-day maximum rule) 

Weekends and public holidays

• Saturday: the blue zone applies until 6:30pm (1h30 max with disc)
• Sunday: free and unlimited parking on all spaces in the town 

Currently, all on-street parking is free. There are therefore no rates as such. However, a change is planned.

The town has conducted a citizen consultation on introducing paid parking to combat the "overoccupation" of spaces. If the new regulation were adopted, here is what could change:

• Resident subscription: around £8/month or £80/year to park in the future orange zone (90% of the town)
• Red shopping zone: 30 minutes free per day, then £2/hour (2h max duration)
• Orange zone for visitors: £1/hour
• Motorised two-wheelers: would remain free

The "overoccupation" of spaces is a recurring problem in Arcueil, acknowledged by the municipality.

The RER stations sector (green zone)

Near the Arcueil-Cachan station, spaces are highly sought after by public transport users. On weekdays, finding a space can be a challenge, hence the introduction of the green zone limited to a half-day for non-residents.

The shopping streets (blue zone)

Around avenue Paul Doumer and the shopping streets, pressure is high, especially on Saturdays. The 1h30 limitation aims to rotate spaces, but you often have to be patient to find a free spot.
