Fontenay-sous-Bois, a commune in the Val-de-Marne department in the Île-de-France region, is a dynamic residential town located just 9 km from the centre of Paris. With its many green spaces, varied heritage and proximity to the capital, it attracts many residents and visitors. Well served by RER A and E, it is experiencing ever-growing traffic and parking difficulties. To tackle this, the council has opted for free parking across the whole territory, with regulated blue zones to encourage vehicle turnover, and also offers free public car parks as well as resident stickers for inhabitants. Yespark breaks it down for you.
The town of Fontenay-sous-Bois has several public car parks, all free. They are located in different districts and are mainly surface car parks.
| Car park name | Address / Location | Number of spaces |
|---|---|---|
| Parking Roublot | 91 rue Roublot | 29 spaces |
| Parking Eugène Martin | 82 rue Eugène Martin | 47 spaces |
| Parking Mot | - | 90 spaces |
| Parking Moreau-David | - | 201 spaces |
| Parking André Bassée | - | 12 spaces |
| Parking Hôtel de Ville | East wing of the town hall | 88 spaces |
These car parks are open to all and are an excellent alternative to on-street parking, especially in areas where the blue zone rules apply.
As on-street parking and public car park parking is entirely free in Fontenay-sous-Bois, the question doesn't really arise: you can park without paying. However, there are some subtleties to optimise your parking and avoid unpleasant surprises.
Respect the blue zones
Free parking is conditional on a maximum duration in the blue zones. If you need to park longer, go for streets in green zones (free parking) or the free public car parks (no time limit).
Use the free public car parks
Municipal car parks such as Moreau-David (201 spaces) or Mot (90 spaces) are free and without time limits. Ideal for a full day or extended parking.
For long-stay parking, opt for a Yespark car park
If you need a secure, dedicated space for several days or by the month, private Yespark car parks are an excellent option. With 14 car parks and 351 spaces available, expect an average of €67 per month or €6 per hour.
Avoid alternating parking
Remember that the alternating parking rule applies on most streets, unless signs indicate otherwise. Respect the odd and even sides depending on the period of the month to avoid a fine.
Park in green zones for unlimited duration
Green zones are free and without time limits. It's the best option if you need to leave your vehicle all day.
Everywhere! Parking is free across the whole territory. But depending on duration, you must follow a few rules:
Some areas of the town are under heavy car pressure, particularly the blue zones, which were created precisely to prevent residents of neighbouring towns from parking for too long on the commune.
Around the technical and urban planning services, the historic area of Fontenay Village is very popular for its shops and services. Spaces are highly contested, especially on Saturday mornings.
Around the Rigollots crossroads, this blue zone is very busy with shop customers.
This residential district close to neighbouring towns is under heavy pressure from drivers looking for free parking.
The Parapluies neighbourhood is also in high demand due to its proximity to paid-parking areas in neighbouring communes.
These residential neighbourhoods are also subject to blue-zone rules to prevent "abandoned vehicle" parking.
Faced with demand, particularly in the blue zones and near the RER station, finding a secure parking space available by the month can prove tricky. Yespark makes your life easier by connecting you directly to private car parks belonging to individuals or professionals in Fontenay-sous-Bois and its surroundings. With 14 Yespark car parks and more than 350 spaces available in the town, you'll find a solution near your home or workplace, at an average price of €67 per month.
Registration is quick and with no commitment: within a few minutes, your space is waiting for you. You also benefit from many perks:
The town has chosen free parking across its entire territory. However, blue zones have been introduced to encourage vehicle turnover, particularly in shopping areas and districts close to neighbouring towns where parking is paid.
Blue zones
They cover the following areas: Village, Rigollots, Dame Blanche, Parapluies, Guérin-Leroux, Clos d'Orléans and the Boulevard de Vincennes.
Resident sticker
So as not to penalise Fontenaysien residents in the "Dame blanche", "Parapluies", "Guérin-Leroux" and "Clos d'Orléans" areas, the town has introduced a free resident sticker allowing parking without time restriction, at a rate of one sticker per household. You can apply for it online via the dedicated form or at the Municipal Police service (east wing of the town hall), with your most recent council tax notice and the vehicle's registration document.
Green zones
Outside the blue zones, parking is free and without time limit.
Alternating parking
The alternating parking rule applies on most streets, unless signs indicate otherwise. From the 1st to the 15th of the month, park on the odd-numbered side; from the 16th to the last day of the month, on the even-numbered side.
No-parking zones
Some areas have parking prohibited (black and dotted black zones on the Seety map).
The Post-Parking Charge (FPS)
In the event of non-compliance with blue-zone rules (missing disc, exceeding duration), a fine of €35 applies.
