Vitry-sur-Seine, a commune in the Val-de-Marne department in the Île-de-France region, is a residential and dynamic town located close to Paris, served by RER C and D. Faced with the growing parking difficulties, the council has chosen to maintain free surface parking, while introducing blue zones to regulate duration and developing an offer of free and monitored public car parks. Yespark breaks it down for you.
The town has several free public car parks, spread across the different districts, as well as larger-capacity car parks near the station.
| Car park name | Address / Location | Spaces | Specifics |
|---|---|---|---|
| Temporary car park at Les Ardoines station | Gare Ardoines district | 335 spaces | Free and fitted with timing pay-and-display machines. Open since 26 October 2023. Access to the RER C station. 50 Vélib' spaces nearby. |
| Free car park rue de Choisy | 49, rue de Choisy | 38 spaces | Open 24/7. Limited to 4h. Parking disc mandatory. Spaces reserved for reduced-mobility and two-wheeled users. |
| Parking Audigeois | Near the town centre | 700 private spaces (3 levels) | Car park primarily for tenants and subscribing co-owners. |
| Town-centre market car park | Near the market | 151 spaces | Town-centre car park, managed by Facility Park. |
| Car park rue Léon Geoffry | - | N/A | Long-stay car park (10h) with pay-and-display (operating 7 am to 7 pm). Free. |
| Car park rue du Génie | - | N/A | Long-stay car park (10h) with pay-and-display (operating 7 am to 7 pm). Free. |
Good to know: municipal car parks are fitted with CCTV and offer card payment.
Since parking is entirely free throughout the commune, cost isn't a concern. However, to optimise your parking and avoid unpleasant surprises, here are some tips.
Respect the durations in the blue zone
Free parking is conditional on a maximum duration in the blue zones (from 2h to 4h depending on the street). If you need to park longer, go for streets outside the blue zone or the free long-stay car parks (rue Léon Geoffry, rue du Génie).
Use the free long-stay car parks
For a full day, the car parks on rue Léon Geoffry and rue du Génie offer 10h parking with pay-and-display. Remember to take a ticket to activate the session.
For extended parking, opt for a Yespark car park
If you need a private, dedicated space for several days or by the month, Yespark car parks are an excellent option.
Consider the park and ride (P+R) for your trips to Paris
If you're taking the RER, park and rides (P+R) are available near the stations. Some offer a preferential rate for Navigo subscribers (information to verify on site).
Everywhere! Parking is free across the whole territory. But depending on the duration, you must follow a few rules.
For people with reduced mobility: the town provides spaces reserved for holders of a carte mobilité inclusion (CMI-S), notably in the car park on rue de Choisy.
Some areas of the town are under heavy car pressure, in particular the blue zones, which were created precisely to regulate parking in the busiest districts.
With the influx of passengers taking the RER C, the Les Ardoines station area is extremely busy during the week. The new temporary car park (335 spaces) provides increased capacity, but can fill up at peak times.
Around the market of the town centre and the Parking Audigeois, demand is very strong, especially on Saturday mornings. The market car park (151 spaces) is often full at peak hours.
Streets subject to blue-zone rules (Abbé-Roger-Derry, Général-Leclerc, Henri-Barbusse, etc.) are in high demand from drivers. The limited duration (2h) ensures turnover, but spaces remain contested.
With only 38 spaces, this 24/7 free car park is highly coveted by residents and visitors. The 4h limit aims to prevent "abandoned vehicle" parking.
Faced with demand, especially in the blue zones and near the RER station, finding a secure parking space available by the month can prove tricky. Yespark makes your life easier by connecting you directly to private car parks belonging to private individuals or professionals in Vitry-sur-Seine and its surroundings.
Registration is quick and with no commitment : within a few minutes, your space is waiting for you. You also benefit from many perks:
The town has chosen free parking across its entire territory. However, blue zones have been introduced to encourage vehicle turnover in the busiest areas.
Blue zones
They affect many streets and car parks. The rules are as follows:
| Type | Maximum duration | Times | Affected areas |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drop-off | 20 min | 7 am – 7 pm | Outside certain crèches and early-childhood facilities |
| Medium stay | 2h | 8 am – 7 pm | Rues de l'Abbé-Roger-Derry, Général-Leclerc, Audigeois, Ambroise-Croizat, Henri-Barbusse, Montebello, Maximilien-Robespierre, Henri-de-Vilmorin, Germain-Defresne, Château, avenues Paul-Vaillant-Couturier, Anatole-France, Youri-Gagarine, cours de la gare, place Pierre-Sémard, Granges, 10 juillet 1940, Choisy, Huit Mai 1945 and Camille Blanc |
| Long stay | 4h | 8 am – 7 pm | Car parks on avenue du 8 Mai 1945, rue Louise Aglaé Cretté and rue de Choisy |
Parking disc mandatory
In the blue zone, drivers must display a European parking disc (model compliant since 1 January 2012), showing the vehicle's arrival time.
